Khalfan folktales · Ages 5 to 7
Folktales to read out loud, in English and in Urdu.
One small job for the child on every page, two pages of true things behind the story, and a game at the end.
Khalfan means the one who comes after. These are the stories that were handed to us.
Every page has a small job for your child.
The picture is on the left, the words on the right, and under the words, one job. The job is what makes these books different, so try not to skip it.
A line they say with you, or instead of you.
Something with their body: a roar, a thump, a clap, going still.
A real question with no right answer, so there is nothing to correct.
Something to find in the picture on the left. Let them find it.
Stop reading. Count to three. Then turn the page.
